In today's advanced industrial world, achieving high dimensional accuracy, excellent surface smoothness and perfect parallelism in industrial parts is an undeniable principle. Many parent industries, such as machine building, mold making, military and aerospace industries, need parts with very precise engineering tolerances for the correct operation and long life of their equipment. Meanwhile, flat grinding services for large parts plays a vital role as one of the most key final payment processes. Especially when we are dealing with long pieces (up to 2 meters and more), the challenges are doubled and the need for specialized machines and skilled operators is felt more than ever. Akbari Novin Sanat collection, relying on modern technical knowledge, modern equipment and years of experience, as one of the pioneers in providing flat grinding services for large parts in Iran, is ready to respond to the complex needs of various industries.
What is flat grinding and why is it important?
Surface Grinding is an abrasive machining process in which a rotating stone wheel is used to create a smooth and uniform surface on the workpiece. The main goal of this process is to achieve one or more of the following specifications:
- High Surface Finish: Removing microscopic unevenness from the surface of the part and creating a mirror and polished surface.
- Precise Dimensional Accuracy: Bringing the thickness of the part to a very precise size with close tolerances (within microns).
- Perfect Parallelism & Perpendicularity: Ensuring that the stone surfaces are They are completely parallel or perpendicular to the other surfaces of the piece.
The importance of this process becomes clear when we realize that the smallest error in the flatness or parallelism of a part in a large assembly assembly can lead to incorrect operation, premature wear, vibration and ultimately the failure of the entire system. Therefore, flat grinding of large parts is not a choice, but a necessity to ensure quality in sensitive industries.
Specialized challenges in flat grinding large parts
Machining and grinding large and long parts has its own unique complexities that distinguish it from grinding small parts. Understanding these challenges demonstrates the depth of expertise required to do this:
1. Heat control and thermal expansion
The grinding process generates a lot of heat due to the high friction between the stone wheel and the workpiece. In large parts, this heat can cause non-uniform expansion of the part. If this heat is not managed properly, after cooling the part, distortion and warping will be created in it and all dimensional accuracy will be lost. Using powerful cooling systems and correct grinding techniques to minimize heat generation is critical.
2. Maintaining uniformity of smoothness throughout the piece
When dealing with a 2 meter long piece, it is very difficult to ensure that the surface smoothness and thickness remain the same throughout this long length. Any change in pressure, speed or device settings along the path of movement can lead to an uneven surface. This is where the stability and rigidity of grinding machines and the skill of the operator play the main role.
3. Vibration & Chatter
Long and heavy parts are more prone to vibration during the machining process. These vibrations, which are also called "Chatter", can create unwanted wave-shaped patterns on the surface of the piece and severely reduce the quality of the surface finish. Special machines for flat grinding of large parts must have a very heavy and rigid chassis to absorb and neutralize these vibrations.
4. The need for machines with a long stroke
The most obvious challenge is the need for grinding machines with work tables and moving courses that can accommodate parts 2 meters or more in length. These giant machines are considered a heavy investment and cannot be found in every workshop. Realizing this market need, Akbari Navin Sanat has equipped its workshop with long length machines to provide flat grinding services for large parts without restrictions.

Akbari Navin Sanat Group proudly announces that it is ready to provide specialized services to all industries of the country by having one of the most equipped lines of flat grinding for large parts. Our distinction is not limited to equipment, but a combination of technology, expertise and commitment to quality.
Advanced machines up to 2 meters long
We are equipped with flat grinding machines with a powerful magnetic table and a movement course of more than 2 meters. This capability allows us to grind a wide range of large parts, including machine base plates, guide rails, large industrial mold blocks and precision chassis to the highest quality. The rigidity and stability of these devices guarantee the elimination of vibrations and the achievement of a unique surface smoothness.
Expert and experienced team
Our skilled operators have years of experience working with sensitive and large parts. They are well familiar with the challenges of grinding large parts and know how to get the best result in the shortest possible time without damaging the workpiece by accurately adjusting the machine parameters such as spindle speed, feed rate and loading depth.
Accurate and continuous quality control
At Akbari Navin Sanat, quality is not a slogan, but a process. We use precision measuring instruments such as digital micrometers, micron-accuracy indicator watches, and smoothness measuring devices to control the quality of parts before, during, and after the grinding process. All parts are delivered to the customer after the completion of the work along with the quality control report to ensure full compliance with the engineering drawings.
Key applications of flat grinding services for large parts
These specialized services are at the heart of many important industries. Wherever precision, smoothness and parallelism are required on a large scale, large part flat grinding services are the solution.
Machine building and automation industry
- Grinding of Base Plates: Creating a completely smooth and level surface for the precise installation of other machine components.
- Grinding of rails and guides (Guide Rails): Guaranteeing smooth, accurate and vibration-free linear movement for the movement axes of CNC machines, robots and automation systems.
- Grinding of machine bodies and chassis: Creating precise reference surfaces for final assembly.
Molding industry (plastic injection, diecast and press)
- Grinding of the mold plates: Accurate parallelism between the fixed and moving plates of the mold to prevent material leakage, create pleats and guarantee the quality of the manufactured part. Flat grinding of large parts is essential in this industry for car bumper molds, dashboards and other large plastic parts.
- Grinding of shoe blocks and matrix mandrels: Creating perfectly smooth surfaces for precise operation of cutting and forming molds.
Steel and rolling industries
- Grinding of guillotine blades and cutting: Creating sharp and smooth cutting edges for precise cutting of metal sheets. The long length of these blades makes the grinding of large parts inevitable.
- Grinding of wear parts: Finishing the surfaces of parts that are subject to severe wear to increase their life.
Aerospace and defense industries
The process of carrying out the grinding project in Akbari Navin Sanat
We follow a specific and optimized work process to ensure complete transparency and customer satisfaction:
- Technical consultation and drawing review: In the first step, our experts carefully review your drawings and technical requirements and suggest the best method to achieve the desired tolerances.
- Part preparation and loading: The work piece is carefully cleaned and fixed on the machine using a powerful magnetic table or special clamps to prevent any movement during work.
- Execution of the grinding process: The process is carried out in two main stages: Roughing to remove the main load and bring the part close to the final dimensions, and finishing grinding with a very low load depth to achieve surface smoothness and final dimensional accuracy. It is measured and adapted to the plan.
- Packaging and delivery: The workpiece is ready to be delivered to the customer with a stainless coating and suitable packaging.
